Elvira, known affectionately as "Viri” by her family, was a woman who lived life on her own terms, long before it became trendy to do so. 

Born in Gacheta, Colombia, Viri embodied a captivating blend of intelligence, courage, humor, and grace. From an early age, she held a fervent desire to ensure her family's happiness and success, whether it was assisting her sibilings with homework, aiding her mother in dressmaking, or her unwavering determination to raise three resilient women on her own.

She instilled in her three daughters a deep appreciation and reverence for nature. And her love for owls was palpable, and it was easy to see why. These magnificent birds symbolized both wisdom and courage, a reflection of her own observant and independent spirit.

Her talents knew no bounds – a painter, a seamstress, a potter, a self-taught accountant, an incredible cook, and the undisputed matriarch of the family. She held a position as an accountant at Telecom, the largest communication company in the country, where she started drawing maps of Colombia by hand before getting promoted. Her work ethic and passion for learning made her very successful.

As a single working mother, she raised three remarkable women who went on to achieve great things - an architect, a teacher, and a lawyer, with one, even becoming a respected magistrate in Colombia. A reflection of her boundless creativity and living embodiments of what it means to embrace life with passion and unshakable spirit.

From above, Viri continues to inspire and motivate, a driving force behind a new chapter in her grandchildren's lives.
