Grown by the Rioja family in the mountains of northern Peru, El Perlamayo is a small two-hectare farm producing coffees that reflect both careful cultivation and innovative processing.
This lot undergoes an anaerobic natural process, where coffee cherries ferment in a controlled oxygen-free environment before drying. The result is a vibrant, fruit-forward cup with remarkable complexity.
Expect notes of crisp peach, strawberry wine, and rose, balanced by a delicate sweetness and floral finish.
El Perlamayo is an excellent example of how thoughtful processing can highlight the unique character of both the coffee and the farm from which it comes.
